Zone Management
Zones are logical groupings of doors and devices, which can be used for Anti-passback, on-site status, people counting, and other future applications.
Understanding zones and Anti-Passback (APB)
When using Zones for Anti-Passback, the administrator should define entry points and exit points for the zone. These determine when a credential user is inside of the zone or outside of the zone. A credential user cannot reenter the zone – even using a different credential – without first exiting the zone. Anti-passback can also be used to define clear entry points and exit points, preventing users from doubling back and exiting through an entrance.
Perimeter zone
Similar to Anti-Passback, BioStar Air defines a perimeter zone that determines a credential user's on-site status. This is important for the On-Site Now and Roll Call features. The Perimeter Zone may optionally be configured for Anti-Passback.
